Services are provided at school sites, at client's homes and at our clinic.
West Contra Costa is rich in cultural diversity. Parts of the region have severe economic difficulties, resulting in psycho-social stressors that can accompany lower income and poverty. Issues faced by the community include a high level of violent crime, drug/alcohol abuse and family disruption due to incarceration and difficulty maintaining employment and housing.
Clients come from traditional and non-traditional families. Some live with one parent, two parents, blended or step-families, older siblings, grandparents, aunts & uncles, guardians and group or foster homes.
The mission of the Y Team is to provide every client with the opportunity to be successful in life, at school and in the future. Y Team clients range in age from 5-18 years of age and can refer themselves for counseling, or be referred by teachers, parents, staff or other concerned adults.
